Three years ago, I was involved in a major traffic accident where I was found to be completely not at fault (confirmed by video evidence within weeks). Despite this, Bikesure insisted I pay premium insurance rates until the case was settled in court.
Now that the case has finally closed, I’ve discovered:
£1,900 unfairly paid in inflated premiums over 3 years
The first two years of overpayments are apparently non-refundable
I must now contact my previous insurer to adjust my premium – which turns out to be Bikesure themselves
My annual premium has skyrocketed from £350 (as a new driver with full comprehensive cover) to £900 (now on third-party), despite having a spotless 8-year driving record apart from this no-fault accident
They have until tomorrow to:
Refund all overpayments fairly
Correct my premium history
Resolve this administrative mess
If not, I will have no choice but to escalate this to the Financial Ombudsman and leave a 1-star review detailing this unacceptable treatment.
This has been nothing short of financial exploitation of a no-fault driver.
