I visited the Morley WA branch to deposit some Christmas money for my granddaughter, who lives in Victoria. When I provided the teller with the account details for the deposit, I was asked if I had an account with the bank. I replied that I didn’t, only to be told that I couldn’t deposit money into my granddaughter’s account.

When I asked why, the teller explained that it was a rule of the Commonwealth Bank. As an older Australian who doesn’t use internet banking, this policy left me feeling frustrated and excluded. Once again, another bank treating customers as if they’re criminals or irrelevant.

I am not happy with Commonwealth Bank
