Absolutely terrible experience. A top-of-the-line GE microwave, only 30 months old, stopped working in February 2026. GE arranged for a repair technician to come out, who confirmed it wasn’t working, no surprise there. Then I was handed a $130 bill, which I refused to pay. (Since then, I’ve received multiple duplicate bills in the mail, all of which went straight into recycling.)
They eventually sent me a replacement at 30% off the regular price. While the microwave did work, it arrived with a large dent on the side, raising concerns about its long-term durability. Another service tech came out, agreed the dent was significant, but said there was nothing they could do and that I’d need to contact GE directly. They haven’t sent me a bill yet, so I don’t even get the small satisfaction of refusing to pay them.
I’ve had many conversations with GE staff, all of whom were friendly, polite, and professional—but completely unable to help. GE products aren’t worth the money, and their customer service is awful. I will never, ever buy another GE product. Our other appliances are Bosch, and we should have bought a Bosch microwave too. Yes, they’re expensive—but at least they work.
