I placed a food order through Just Eat, but despite the app showing it as "delivered," I never received it.
I attempted to contact Just Eat’s customer service by phone but was unable to reach a representative, so I sent an email requesting a refund. However, Just Eat refused my request, responding as follows:
**"Thanks for getting in touch with Just Eat about your order (524593099).
The courier delivering your order made several attempts to contact you before leaving it in a safe place. This means we won’t be able to process a refund.
We can confirm that your order was delivered to your address. Depending on your property type, it would have been left at your front door or, if access was restricted, at the front of your apartment building near the doorbell."**
To this, I responded:
I strongly disagree with your resolution. The claim that your delivery person made "several attempts" to contact me is completely false. My call log provides clear evidence—he called only once from 07450 346899, and I answered immediately, but the call was cut off. After that, I made multiple attempts to call him back while heading to the apartment foyer, where even the receptionist confirmed that no delivery person had arrived.
Deliveries to Obel Towers are routine, and I have successfully received orders through Just Eat before. However, this particular delivery was mishandled on every level. If the driver claims to have delivered it to my door, where is the proof? Who provided him with the order code? Was he not supposed to verify the recipient before completing the delivery?
Even worse, when I tried to contact Just Eat’s customer service immediately after realizing my order was missing, there was no available representative to address the issue.
I paid for a service that was not fulfilled. If I do not receive a full refund, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter and share this experience across all social media platforms.
I am not happy with Just Eat UK
Terrible experience with this company. I’ll be deleting the app. I placed an order for a McDonald's breakfast before 10:30 am, and it was accepted and marked as "being prepared" within five minutes. However, nothing happened after that. By 11:25 am, the order was suddenly cancelled by Just Eat without any warning or notice.
When I complained, I found that the customer service team is based in India and offered no real help. The service was absolutely unacceptable, and I’ll never use them again!
