To pay a friend a £20 they keep asking to use the card reader which I never use with other accounts: revolut and tide. Nationwide are still living in the bronze ages. I don't recommend them to anybody.
I am not happy with Nationwide
The staff at the Banbury branch are incredible. After my husband's passing, I visited the branch for assistance with his account. Josh was the first to help me—he was compassionate, supportive, and guided me through all the necessary paperwork. Today, I returned to resolve another matter, and once again, the team was extremely helpful. They contacted the relevant department to secure the required forms and assisted me in completing them. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch their names, but they will know who they are. Thank you all for your kindness and understanding.
We have been loyal Nationwide customers for our buildings and house contents insurance for many years, across different counties in Kent, Wales, Berkshire, and beyond. They used to provide excellent service, and we maintained a strong no-claims record.
Since moving to our current 4-bedroom detached house in Carmarthenshire in 2020, we continued with Nationwide, paying £660 annually through monthly direct debits. However, during Storm Darragh on Saturday, 7th December 2024, we experienced significant damage despite taking every precaution as guided by government emergency warnings. Our boundary wall and fencing were blown away, and our landline and router were rendered non-functional.
On Monday, 9th December, I managed to call Nationwide using our neighbor’s landline, as she has a different service provider. To our dismay, the Customer Service Advisor informed us that the damage was not covered. He directed me to review the terms and conditions on page 22. However, upon checking our most recent policy documents, I found they only contained 16 pages!
We feel deeply let down by Nationwide on this occasion. It feels like a rip-off, especially after paying substantial premiums and maintaining a clean no-claims record.
