Time means absolutely nothing at Stanford Medical Centre. Their administrative process moves at half the speed of smell, and it seems upper management simply doesn't care.
I've been trying to get approval and treatment for over six weeks now. A key decision maker was supposed to review my application and make a decision within one week. Instead, it took him four weeks—and that only happened after multiple calls to his staff to shake things loose. (He can't be reached directly.)
Now, even more approvals are needed, including insurance verification. They've had my insurance information since July 14th so what exactly have they been doing with it?
Everyone I've spoken to at Stanford has been very nice, without a doubt. But I'm no closer to the help I need than I was when I started this chaos in early July. Stanford Medical is just an ordinary, rudderless bureaucracy.
Don't get excited just because it has the Stanford name.
I’ve always had positive experiences at the Quays Practice ( Salford). The doctors and nurses have been excellent. During my visit today for an issue with my nose, the nurse practitioner was incredibly helpful and put me at ease. I received my prescription immediately and would wholeheartedly recommend this practice to friends and family.
