As others have noted, their customer service is lacking. But my bigger concern is with location accuracy, especially for golf courses, though hotels are also an issue. Over the past few years, I’ve come across directions that were off by as much as SEVEN MILES. When you’re heading to a tee time, the last thing you need is to end up seven miles away with only 30 minutes to spare. For some golf courses, you’re given a list of possible locations, and it’s basically a gamble picking the right one. Google doesn’t seem to have this problem, so I’m baffled as to why TomTom offers so many incorrect options. In the last three years alone, I’ve found eight inaccurate directions for golf courses. In the case of the seven-mile error, I only realized I was going the wrong way because I had played that course years before and recognized the mistake, allowing me to stop and re-enter the destination.
