I went in for a colonoscopy on 10 August 24. My blood pressure was dangerously low at 66/45, so they sent me to the ER. It turned out I had sepsis, and I was admitted to the MICU for IV treatment. I was seriously ill, but after about five hours, I started to feel like a new person—eating solid food and drinking again. However, I had to stay in the MICU for two days because my blood pressure wouldn’t stabilize, followed by four more days in a regular room to receive the antibiotics I needed.
The ER doctor was incredible—I genuinely believe they saved my life by identifying what was happening so quickly. Looking back, we think I may have had sepsis since June, which is when my health issues began.
Every doctor and nurse who cared for me during my stay was outstanding. They deserve 10 stars for their dedication and compassion. Thank you all for helping me through such a critical time!
